The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program is a federal program. Families with an active housing choice voucher can transfer their assistance to any other city in the country that has a HCV program. This program feature is known as portability. When a family transfer their voucher from another housing authority into EPCHA, it is called "porting in." When a family transfers their EPCHA to another housing authority it is called "porting out."
Please make sure that your Housing Authority sends your most up to date information.
EPCHA will contact you within 7 business days by phone once we receive your documentation to schedule an orientation date and time and issue your voucher.
The following documents is required for your EPCHA porting in appointment:
-Picture ID - Valid state ID or driven's license for the head of household;
-Original birth certificates for all family members;
-Original social security cards for all family members; and
-Eligible immigration status card or documentation for eligible non-citizens.
During your orientation you will be issued a voucher based on EPCHA's subsidy standard policy and will be informed of EPCHA's rules, policies and procedures.
